Having spent the last 20 years riding this amazing valley, (starting off way back in the days before suspension or disc brakes) we feel well equiped to share our knowledge of the pleasures of the Chamonix valley and some of the surrounding areas. Your stay will be based in one of our self catered chalets or chalet apartments in central Chamonix. The properties have gardens, bike wash facilities and secure storage for your bikes. Additionally we are in the centre of town with all its amenities and pleasures including several quality, well stocked bike shops for spares, repairs and rental. Your stay can be as flexible as you want, either week stays or long weekends. You can organise your own travel and bring your own bikes, or we can collect you from the airport and organise your bike rental here (an interesting option as you then have the flexibility of renting a serious downhiller one day followed by a cross country bike the next day, or perhaps renting a road bike for a 'rest day' to try some of the infamous local col climbs). Additionally you can explore the valley and surrounds yourselves; or we will be only too pleased to offer full routes descriptions for all levels and styles of riding. Back to the subject of rest days we can also offer rafting, canyoning, golf; climbing, parapenting, casino nights, the list is virtually endless, but should definitely include the new outdoor swimming pool complex opening in June 2010. What we will do however is to make your stay as easy as possible. We own the chalets ourselves and will always be on hand to offer assistance. Finally it is worth pointing out that unlike some other alpine venues, Chamonix is not only a genuine buzzing community but also is a world class tourist destination so if you want a rest day, a change from the bike or are bringing the family it is the perfect venue for all. South facing and set in private gardens facing the infamous jagged peaks of the Mont Blanc mountain range. The chalet is set out over three floors with private own door access at garden level. It is offered on a self catered private group rental basis and will comfortably sleep nine people in its four bedrooms without the use of bunk beds or sofa beds in the living room. The bedrooms are on the ground floor and sub ground floor with an open plan living area on the first floor to give maximum benefit from the extensive and stunning views. The property offers three balconies and private secure parking both above and below ground plus secure internal bike storage. There also is a drying room and hose plus a selection of tools. The property is superbly located at the bottom of one of Chamonix's prestigous shopping streets with the absolute centre of Chamonix less than two minutes walk away. Several of the resorts cablecar stations are five to ten minutes walk away and both the free bus stop and new Chamonix Aiguille De Midi mountain railway halt which serve the entire valley and link to Geneve are two minutes walk away.(Both of which methods of transport carry bikes). We are a very short ride from such highlights as Le Brevant, Le Flegere (new bike park opening 2010), Les Bois, and Le Petit Balcon. Les Houches is about 15 min by bike and le Tour and Les Grands Montets a little further as they are uphill, but all the venues are easily and conveniently accessed by the free bus or train and the return ride back down the valley from Le Tour or Les Grands Montets has several excellent single track options to finish off a perfect day. We are consistently voted by our clients as best overall location for groups and families. For spares, repairs or rental we are virtually across the road from one of the top mountain bikes in the town and there are several other bike shops all within a few minutes walk, not forgetting the supermarkets, bars, bakeries and restuarants all within 2min walk.
