7) Wagrain

Designed by the man who oversaw construction of the park on Whistler Mountain, Dave Kelly, the newly built BikePark in Wagrain is all about one thing: ultimate variety on trails dropping as much as 300 vertical metres!  Wagrain is in the heart of Salzburg's mountainous region that has managed to preserve the beauty of it's landscapes and alpine village charm.

Nearest Airport: Salzburg is only 70 km away.

What does Wagrain have to offer?

The flying Mozart Gondola reaches the mid station in just 5 mins - currently all the trails run from here although there are imminent plans to extend to the top lift station.

Whistler is arguably the world's top bike park and a word used as a reference point for quality trails,  so it is great to see some of the brains behind  the original development coming to Europe to set up a park . Whistler has taken many years to become what it is today and Wagrain opened its door in mid 2006 so is still developing its trails each year.

DOWNHILL & FREERIDE
With the BikePark being built by the guy behind Whistler - the park is geared up for freeriders and downhillers - with plenty of big berms, tabletops, step ups and drops.  There are northshore trails but also traditional DH style runs.

CROSS-COUNTRY
There are not many XC trails within the park but there are smooth machine-built trails that are perfect for the first timer to enjoy the gravity side of the sport.
