10) Les Gets - Portes du Soleil
Les Gets is just 1 hour from Geneva Airport making it extremely accessible from UK and Europe. There are two main lifts either side of the village which lead to a multitude of tracks for everyone.
Since the early years when young locals started building trails and they asked if they could use the lifts in the summer time, Les Gets has continued to develop.. it stalled after its initial growth in those early years, but is now back on track employing a Bike Patrol crew to keep the trails flowing and the area expanding.
Nearest Airport to Les gets: Geneva (approx 1hr)
Since 2007 it has been much easier to connect to the neighbouring resort of Morzine which is now only a trail away! In 2004 Les Gets hosted the Mountain Bike World Championships. There are 5 lifts operating during the summer in Les Gets and 24 accessed with Les Portes du Soleil

DOWNHILL
The downhill courses on each side of the town. The Chavannes side has been well developed over the past 3 years. Using the new Express lift to the top riders can not either go straight back down the Chavannes red run to town or peel off and explore the 'BikePark' with its runs for ALL abilities. On the opposite side of the
valley the Mont Chery gondola takes you up to the very physical long black downhill track.
CROSS-COUNTRY
There are numerous cross-country routes around Les Gets that are not
only great loops but offer amazing views and singletrack.
One of these heads up the Chavannes and around past the Col de Joux
Plane (a famous Tour de France climb) and over to the Chappelle de
Jacquicourt, a small shrine at the top of the mountain. On the way you
can stop for amazing views of Mont Blanc, before heading down some
flowing singletrack back into town.
FREERIDE
There is a BikePark and JumpPark at the top of the Chavannes - you must drop of the Chavannes express to the right, follow the red run to the bottom of the bowl, take the lift to the top and be prepared for some man-made obstacles and large jumps.

Passportes du Soleil at the start of July, a huge mountain bike festival, the Tour de France often visits and is an incredible sight.
