They have done some 'trail building' recently and now have another DH track that comes off Le Pleney run but there is also a more leisurely track runs through the woods on the same side of the hill and there are numerous singletracks that weave down the hillside.
There are lifts running either side of the town - Le Pleney is one side and on the opposite side is the Super Morzine lift that takes you over to the vast Portes du Soleil region.
Over the years the Portes du Soleil has become renowned as the prime
place for mountain bikers from the whole world over. Downhill,
endurance, cross-country…all appreciate the experience and
infrastructure which have made this an MTB Mecca.
• 650 km of sign-posted tracks
• 10 permanent downhill runs
• 4 bike-parks
• MTB trial areas
• 24 ski-lifts equipped for taking mountain bikes
The chairlifts in Morzine allow access to Les Gets, Avoriaz and Chatel offering another wide range of trails. It is a town that attracts many professional riders and teams as it has that special mix of location, trails and atmosphere.
There are many routes that head from the town and either offer lift assisted Cross Country or will let you ride off into the less populated and ridden areas. The Valley de la Manche, the Plateau de Nyon and also the Joux Plane are all great areas of singletrack and Cross Country riding, often away from the main hub of riders. Many long climbs if you do not take the lift, but the downs more than make up for it.
Don't miss the Passportes du Soleil, (28-29 June) and Tour de France often visits the region.
