2) Avoriaz - Portes De Soleil
Avoriaz sits above Morzine and has valleys that fall away on either side of it, giving access to some amazing tracks and incredible views. Many of the trails are fairly rocky and bed in very well making them great in all weathers.
Avoiraz is always expanding and there are now 3 or 4 downhill tracks that run from Avoriaz down to the Linderets villages and this area is being developed as the Linderets Bikepark with more being added constantly.
The town of Avoriaz is a purpose built ski resort and linked to the town of Morzine. Avoriaz sits at 1700 m, and in the winter is a bustling, car free town. Located within easy reach of Geneva, it is very accessible for visitors from all over Europe. In the summer the town is much quieter, attracting mainly French families. It is steadily growing and adding many new tracks to its local area.
Nearest Airport: Geneva is just over 1hr away

DOWNHILL
The
downhill track in Linderets is host to the French National series every
year. This part of Avoriaz is being developed every year and now has
around 4-5 tracks snaking in and out of each other - catering for all
abilities. The area of Linderets also has access to the Chatel Bike
Park via the Chu Florie express chairlift.
CROSS-COUNTRY
There are
numerous cross country tracks that run from Linderets up towards
the Point de Mossettes and around the high ridges to finish above the
town of Avoriaz. Look for the climbs and loops that run high into the surrounding mountains which have some of the best unridden trails.
The Col de Pic a Talon, Col de Fornet, Col de Coutis and Ressachaux
Mountain are all in close proximity to Avoriaz and will reward those
willing to follow the map and put in the effort. For the less adventurous
or less fit, there are many more scenic and relaxing paths that can
take you across and down to Morzine, to the beautiful Montriond Lake,
or around and down from Mossettes on the well ridden GR trail.
FREERIDE
The Freeride at Avoriaz is currently in development. They do however hold the annual 'RoofStyle' evenet that uses the rofftops of the crazy building... its a great event.
