5) Courchevel
Courchevel is made up of several widely spaced out populated 'towns' all at differing altitudes. 1850 is the most central in terms of lift access, many people prefer the vibe of 1650 or La Tania, the latter having seen huge development over the last few years - it also means that you can end your day with a longer descent.
The nearest airports to Courchevel: Chambery, Geneva and Lyon, all under 115 miles.
From mellow beginner trails slopes to funparks to beautifully kept in high speed doubletrack, this place has it all. It offers a great variety of terrain including open and steep trails and an abundance of good forest runs.

DOWNHILL
Riders with heavy downhill bikes will not be able to make the most of the area - Courchevel is still to develop its downhill trails. Each year they do hold a Free Bike event that will appeal to downhillers... it takes in 20km of descending in one day and allows you to
find some of the best trails in the area all marked out for you!
CROSS-COUNTRY
The Three Valleys are made up of spread out 'towns' and where the spread out
locations of the resorts can be a pain in the winter, in the summer it is simply a
means of getting in more great trails between stops. There is a marked
117 km trail around all three resorts plus there are over 10 routes
around Courchevel from very easy to difficult.

At present there is no Freeride available in Courchevel
