Germany
Germany has the highest population of all the EU nations. It has hiills and small rounded mountains as opposed to the jagged peaks of the Alps - but Germany has worked out that you do not need huge mountains to have heaps of fun on your bike and has developed lots of smaller BikeParks using short lifts so that you can spend most of your time doing what matters; riding your bike.
Germany has set about making as much as they can from their smaller and more manageable hills. The result is a whole range of BikeParks and resorts that are all about having fun on your bike, and which lean heavily towards the freeride aspect of the sport.

GERMAN MOUNTAIN BIKE CONDITIONS
Germany is similar to the UK - very green and rolling hills but with ski
lifts! The trails are generally very earthy and can become very cut up during wet periods. During the summer months, Germany can
experience some very hot weather.
1) Bad Wildbad
Bad Wildbad the town was named Wildbad until 1991, when it was given its current name, Bad Wildbad... "Bad" is German for "bath" - it is a Spa resort.
2) Bischofsmais
Bischofsmais lies between 700 and 1100 m in the Bavarian forest area. Although tourism is a relatively recent arrival to this rural community, it now accommodates up to 350 000 visitors per year.
3) Bullhead Mountain
Bullhead Mountain is found on Ox's Head in Fichtelgebirge. The hill is actually called Ox head and the Bullhead part came more recently as it was viewed as a more modern name that sounded better to bikers.
4) Hindelang
The town of Bad Hindelang is the main tourist focus in the local region... A charming and traditional town and very laid back.
5) Oberammergau
Oberammergau, in Bavaria southern Germany, is 100 km from Munich and next to Ludwig's two castles, Linderhof and Neuschwanstein.
6) Todtnau
Germany's original BikePark, Todtnau is located on the Wiese river in the heart of the southern Black Forest. It is a small but well equipped town in lush surroundings.
7) Willingen
Home to downhill racing's biggest jumps with challenging gravity trails and is a great area for Cross-Country. The town of Willingen is tucked well away in the hills, some 80 km from the city of Kassel.
8) Winterberg
Germany's most popular freeride park, Winterberg is a busy resort with some great trails. The town of Winterberg is in the Sauerland area.
