Bad Wildbad the town was named Wildbad until 1991, when it was given its current name, Bad Wildbad... "Bad" is German for "bath" - it is a Spa resort.

It is picturesquely situated in the romantic pine-clad gorge of the Enz, a tributary of the Neckar in the Black Forest.  Towering above Bad Wildbad is a small mountain, the Wildbader Sommerberg, whose top may be reached by the funicular railway.

DOWNHILL
Bad Wildbad has some of the most technical downhill tracks in Europe, served by a funicular and a towlift.  The terrain here is rugged and the trails reflect this with their technical nature.  Once again it is a case of making the most of the hill here at Bad Wildbad as there is not a massive vertical drop but the hill has a couple of gravity tails offering options for the downhillers a small, fun bike park and plenty of cross country around the area.

The Downhill courses are renowned for their boulder strewn technical runs.  The IXS trail is the more difficult of the two, with some great corners, fast sections and rocks galore.  The second route is easier but still just as fun.  These are hard and technical downhill courses and suited to advanced riders.
There are no easy trails in Bad Wildbad but, for the easiest option, start out with the Number 2 trail.  The more difficult is the IXS race course which tests all your skills.

FREERIDE
The small BikePark area operated by the towlift has a fun 4X trail, a dual slalom track, a short northshore run and some beginners jumps.
