3) Bullhead Mountain

Bullhead Mountain is found on Ox's Head in Fichtelgebirge.  The hill is actually called Ox head and the Bullhead part came more recently as it was viewed as a more modern name that sounded better to bikers. 

Bullhead Mountain Bikepark is located at the ski lift Ochsenkopf south, in Fleckl, in Bavaria.  The terrain here is a very stony soil with plenty of larger rocks, which makes the trails on what is a relatively small hill much more interesting.  The lift is quite quick and the trails are very quiet.  They all follow mellow gradients and the features are generally not too big.  At the moment, this really is just a 'stopover' resort rather than a week long holiday.

The nearest airports to Fleckl are Munich and Frankfurt, both being about 2 1/2 hours away.

DOWNHILL

There is just one shared Downhill/Freeride route, at just over 2 km long.  The upper rocky sections are more challenging and the trail becomes gentler and easier as you work your way down.

FREERIDE
As mentioned above, the Freeride area is shared with the DH course which has plenty of small drops, log rides and jumps.  It's good as a beginners introduction to riding drops and jumps mixed with some mellow downhill. 
It is best to avoid running your tyres too soft or you will spend most of your time repairing punctures!

CROSS-COUNTRY
You can follow some nice long trails through the surrounding area outside the park - just make sure you have a map! The ones marked H are good fun and technical being well suited to all mountain bikes.
