5) Oberammergau
Oberammergau, in Bavaria southern Germany, is 100 km from Munich and next to Ludwig's two castles, Linderhof and Neuschwanstein.
The town is world famous for the Passion Play, a religious piece which has been made into a feature film. It's location in the thick of Bavaria's forests makes it a great location for mountain biking and has steadily been adding to its roster of trails and garnering a reputation as a great fun spot to ride.
The nearest airport to Oberammergau is Innsbruck, Munich airport is a little further away but the easier option.

Although the terrain is predominantly earthy soils under a forest cover, many parts of the trails at the BikePark have been surfaced to allow them to ride well in all weathers. The riding is this area is beautiful with friendly people and a great restaurant on top of the mountain
DOWNHILL
The
park has a few Downhill runs that follow gentle but fun gradients and
contain some rooty sections and small northshore features suitable for
beginner riders through to intermediates. Advanced riders will still

wallrides, drops and narrow, slower balance beams. There is usually a
choice between smaller and medium sized drops and obstacles. There is
also a 4X course serviced by a separate tow lift. There are riding
technique lessons available at the bikeapark which can be booked in
advance or when you arrive.
CROSS-COUNTRY
There is a guided Cross Country ride each
Friday at 1300 with riders meeting up at the tourist
