Slovenia
Slovenia seems to slip under the radar when it comes to listing the top places to ride in Europe, which is surprising when you take into account the beautiful scenery and the variety of riding on offer and the fact that Maribor is on the World Cup circuit.
Slovenia wins points for its good climate, friendly people and value for money. It also concentrates on the BikePark more so than XC.
Most of the listed XC tours involve more dirt roads than singletrack,
but there are plenty of good singletracks to find if you are willing to
explore or even take a on a guide.

SLOVENIA MOUNTAIN BIKE CONDITIONS
Pretty much the same as Austria, most trails in Slovenia are found below the tree
line, the ground can be soft and loamy. During longer hot spells, this
becomes dusty and hard packed or wet
and muddy after periods of wet weather. The weather in Slovenian resorts
is again like most mountainous regions - generally hot and sunny but
this can change pretty quickly.
1) Maribor Pohorje
Maribor has more to it that just the scariest gondola ride in Europe, the trails will get your adrenaline going too. The ski resort of Pohorje, set around the Pohorje mountain, is a five minute drive outside Maribor, the second largest town in Slovenia.
2) Kranjska Gora
The resort town of Kranjska Gora sits nestled in the Zgornjesavska Valley in the northwestern corner of Slovenia, near the border with Austria and Italy.
3) Kanin
This is the only mountain BikePark in Slovenia that is open for mountain bike enthusiasts every day of the year! Situated near the town of Bovec, the BikePark is at a relatively low altitude (470m) - but the lift in the summer at the BikePark goes to just over 1000m. Kanin benefits from a strong influence of warm Mediterranean air.
