Spain, Portugal & Canary Islands
4) San Sebastien
A new riding spot in the north of Spain, where the Pyrenees comes right down to the Atlantic ocean. It's recently been voted one of the top 50 places to ride in Europe by Dirt magazine. The riding is very varied but normally steep and technical. The resort is not lift-assisted but, uplifts can be arranged by local companies...
Nearest airport to San Sebastian: Biarritz (France) is about 20 mins away

DOWNHILL
Lots of natural downhill trails that are long, steep and technical enough to be used as DH runs. You'll will probably get more out of the trails here with a 6-7" all-mountain type bike.
FREERIDE
There are some freeride parks here with a good range of obstacles, however for people looking for man made jumps and the like, there are other better places.
CROSS-COUNTRY
There are lots of runs from 'big mountain' back-country type runs to coastal singletrack.
