14) Wiriehorn
Wiriehorn is a small Alpine town and ski resort through the winter months. It's one chairlift has been used to good effect through the summer months by the resort, which has built some Downhill and Freeride trails to provide a summer season.
It has a mellow relaxed
vibe that makes it an enjoyable place to spend a few days. Wiriehorn is a sleepy Swiss town that comes to life for the race events held here each year. The trails are open though, most of the year, with zero queuing.

Wiriehorn has a very small but good quality bike offer, it is aimed more at the Downhill/Freeride market. The resort has a relaxed and fun feel and is great as part of a multi trip tour. Offering a new fast 6 man chairlift which takes riders to the top, with quality trails and a long bike season.
DOWNHILL
The main Downhill is a regular fixture of the IXS Downhill Series
and tests some of the best riders. With high speeds and tighter, more
technical root sections it has a good mix of terrain.
Local Swiss downhiller Thomas Rysser has had a lot of input in the
trails over the past few years building lines to challenge beginners
through to pros. All of the
hardest parts of the course can be avoided making the line work
for less experienced riders as well as the racers out there.
FREERIDE
Wiriehorn
has a Freeride descent with more northshore and jumps than the main
Downhill, though even that trail is littered with drops and small
gaps and there is a 400m northshore section. It is a fun place to
session the Downhill trails and hit the various stunts and gaps that
have been put in on the hill.
CROSS-COUNTRY
The resort has focused its attention on gravity trails.
The new Cross Country route is a welcome addition but there is not
enough here to justify more than a weekend stop without heading out
under your own steam with a map.
