Lugano is a stunning city set on the shores of Lake Lugano and surrounded by mountains in the Italian speaking region of Tocino, in south Switzerland.
The city has earned the nickname the 'Monte Carlo of Switzerland' due to the large number of celebrities and sportsmen drawn to the place. With a high number of sunny days it is perfect trail riding weather to hit the many trails surrounding the lake and city.

There are 4 lifts; Monte Bre, Monte Tamaro, Monte Lema and Monte Gererosa, servicing Lugano.
DOWNHILL
Lugano
will not satisfy the racer heads as the long and Steep World
Championship course is not open to ride anymore, but it does have bags
of quality singletrack and with four lifts on different mountains
around the city that carry bikes, there are loads of trails to take
down the hills. The better trails (unmarked and that the locals ride) are little-used old footpaths.
You will need a car to get to the different lifts and the lifts do not
offer day and week passes - most are single trip tickets.
FREERIDE
There are no freeride facilities.
CROSS-COUNTRY
A
beautiful wide area to enjoy Cross Country riding with trails heading
out from all parts of the city and around the surrounding hills and
valleys. Lugano is an unspoilt Cross Country mecca.
While on the whole the trails are not as technical or exposed as say
Verbier or Chamonix, they are flowing and run through some beautiful
landscapes.
